DutyPay — Cabin Crew Pay Calculator · ← Back to DutyPay

Effective date: 12 August 2026

The short version: DutyPay stores your data on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, and we don't sell or share your information with anyone. The only things ever sent to us are feedback you choose to submit and anonymous flight-number lookups.

Who we are

DutyPay is developed by Alex Ellem, an independent developer based in Australia. This policy explains what information the DutyPay iOS app handles and how. We take our obligations under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (including the Australian Privacy Principles) seriously.

Information stored on your device

Everything you enter in DutyPay stays on your device:

This information is stored locally in the app's private storage. It is never uploaded to us. Deleting the app deletes this data. If you use iCloud device backups, your device may include this data in your backup — that backup is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Flight lookup

If you use the optional flight lookup feature to fill in sector times, the app sends the flight number you entered to our flight-schedule service, which retrieves the scheduled route and times from third-party aviation-data providers. No personal information, profile details or saved duties are sent — only the flight number you're looking up. Results are cached briefly to keep lookups fast; nothing about you is stored.

Feedback

If you choose to send feedback, the app sends your message to our feedback service, along with the app version, iOS version and device model to help with support. If you include calculation details, they contain only the duty inputs and results — no other data. Feedback is stored securely so we can investigate and respond, is never shared with anyone, and can be deleted on request. If the feedback service is unavailable, the app offers an email fallback instead.

What we don't do

Children

DutyPay is intended for working airline cabin crew and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data handling changes — for example, if a future update introduces new features that process data differently — we'll update this policy and change the effective date above before the change takes effect.
